This course has five lakes that come into play on most holes. In addition, the terrain is hilly, so you should expect many uneven lies. The atmosphere is quite peaceful, making this an enjoyable location for the entire family to play golf. The signature hole is #17, a 440-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot from off an elevated tee, then an approach shot to an "L"-shaped green. This hole is considered one of the most difficult in Ventura County.

Elkins Ranch Gold Course, May 20, 2008

I found Elkins Ranch a beautiful place to play golf and enjoyed the great surrondings. The mountians are majestic,and the orange orchards surrounding the course smell of blossoms. The course itself, could easly become a Country Club. The fairways have always been a little thin. The greens are slow, and need to be replaced, or reseeded with pen-cross. They have needed help for long time. The pro is Chis Harvey, and he is an excelent teacher, very well talented. Great Staff and Pro shop. This is a must play course.

Very beautiful and very quiet course. wide fairways, but the grass could be better.
