This club added an additional nine hole course in April of 1997, thus enabling a total of three different eighteen hole configurations: The Ridge, The Valley and The Lakes. These courses have a variety of terrain to challenge the most experienced golfers. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, and numerous large trees line the fairways. On the Lakes Course the signature hole is #7, a 174-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot to a well-bunkered, peninsula green. The Ironwood Golf Academy is located off the premises. the course has gone down hill in the past couple of years due to a lack of matnaince and attention to the fairways and greens

"Hidden jewel"
This course is in the middle of the upper peninsula of Michigan. It is simply the best course I ever played for the money. Quick and true greens were very well maintained (How did they attract such a talented Superintendent). Very challenging holes that do not duplicate themselves. Laid back atmosphere--no pressures!

I played here twice so far. The fairways were in pretty good shape. They recently hired a new superintendent from Charlotte National (Dino) who produces some of the best greens in Charlotte. With a little time, he will have those greens rolling right. He has already started re-doing all the bunkers. Some walks from green to the next tee would be impossible to make. It has some beautiful holes. Most bunkers did not have enough sand in them, but they're being re-worked now with some getting all new drainage and sand and some being filled in as grass bunkers. This will make it a fairer course.
