This course was built on flat terrain and is easy to walk. There are four water hazards strategically placed throughout the design as well as out-of-bounds stakes lining all nine holes. The greens are all elevated on this challenging course. The most difficult hole is #2, a 510-yard, par 5, featuring a dogleg right fairway and an elevated green with a sand bunker on the right side and a creek that runs along the back side.

Decent for the price, May 10, 2004

Less than $15 to walk 18. This 9-hole course is fun for a very easy day of golf. The short holes will help to boost your ego for when you go to some of the much nicer courses in the area. Staff was nice, but no water on the course at all and no food in the club house. My advice is if you have the time and money, play another course in the area.

Oakmont Country Club
"Tough but Fair"
Oakmont is a picturesque layout in the foothills of Glendale with lovely mountain views. The course is an old-style country club layout which rewards well planned out shotmaking. The greens are usually very fast and reward players for being below the hole. The Pac-10 Conference Championship was held at Oakmont in 2003 and only two players broke par (288) in a field of 50. The players found the par 3's particularly challenging. The greens are very well protected with sand bunkers and the fairways are heavily tree-lined. Best time to play Oakmont is in the spring and fall. I find the twelfth hole to be the most challenging. It is a 420 yard par four, uphill and terraced. The green is long and narrow, two-tiered and protected by a large bunker on the right and a drop-off hill and trees on the left.

Great greens and thats just the start. From tee to green this course was in super shape. You must remember this is the dead of winter and the course was 5 star. The staff was very nice and told us to have a great time, most places just take your money and show you were the carts are. This is also a great course to walk.
