This course was built on sand and it has several hills that can cause uneven lies. The wind is definitely a factor, so selecting the right club may make the difference between a par and a bogey. There are very plush greens on the course, and the terrain is rolling. The club renovated three holes in 1997.

to find Ocean Dunes Golf Links on our way home from Bandon Dunes. Great Golf Course, with nice employees. Had a wonderful lunch. Hope to take a group there sometime this summer. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

This is a majestic golf course. The layout appears nestled in the pines and marshes with little man-made interference. It is a tough test from the tips, yet fair. There are no gimmicky holes as the course is right before you. You just have to execute the shot.

What this little beauty lacks in length and pedigree, it makes up for with a heavy dose of genuine character and a scenic backdrop of rolling, green hills that surround the valley the course is cut out of. Birch Run has seen remarkable improvement in the general shape of its greens, fairways and tees in the last 5 years -- largely thanks to the unwavering dedication of its management and staff. Players enjoy an inexpensive greens fee ($10-15) that courses with more cachet can't offer, combined with a very fun 19th hole atmosphere for post-round relaxation. All in all, a solid bargain that will have you coming back for repeat visits.

Little Course at Aspen Grove, The
