Kissena Park Golf Course

Phone: (718)939-4594Fax: (718)463-9161
This course is challenging, even though it's short. The fairways were built on rolling terrain, but the course is still easy to walk. Water hazards do not come into play, but there are a few sand bunkers. The head pro suggests bringing every golf club in your bag because the course was designed to force golfers to hit a variety of shots. Stephen Kay redesigned the course in 1986. Senior and junior discounts are offered at specific times, please call the pro shop for more information.

Very good course if you're starting out, Jul 22, 2010 |

| I like this par 3 and 4 course. If you go during the week you can actually play 18 holes in under 3 hours which is great. Excellent course to work on your short game. I leave my driver home though you can use it on all par 4's if you want. Fairways are wide and there are a lot of trees. Good hills and a great course for walking. I consider it well maintained compared to what I've heard about the place in the past. I was going to Douglaston, but as a third year golfer, I am liking this course much better. |

| Kissena may not be the longest course and may not have the nicest views, but for beginners and people getting a little up there in age, it is a great place to play.Anyone who considers themselves "too good" for the course have just been trying to drive the greens and are not taking it for what it is. Bring a 4/5 iron, 7 iron, PW and putter and you will find it to be a great challenge. Trees can come into play here and out of bounds is a factor on some holes. Take the drivers and woods out of the bag and give yourself a little iron practice and you'll have a great time. |

| I've played here between 15-20 times over the past few years when i don't feel like trekking out to bethpage. WARNING!! Be prepared to get hit by a few balls because the holes are on top of each other. Balls are regularly hit into neighboring fairways but that doesn't stop people from taking their tee shots right into you. Go after 2pm for twilight rate of $18, which is the only time i go. No par 5's so there is a frequent backup with back to back par 3's on the front 9. Staff is good, but sparse. I think I just convinced myself to take a break from here for a while. Pluses: Convenient, Twilight Rates Very Reasonable Minuses: Divot marks look like they were created by greandes, Golfballs coming from all angles. |

| Though in a bit of disrepair, you can't help but fall for the charm of the course, particularly when you notice the NYC skyline rising as you set to putt on the greens of the middle holes. Good place for beginners to work on their game. Easy going and friendly crowd. Not a bad place to go for 18 |

BAD REVIEW, Oct 11, 2004 |

| This golf course is to over rated. You pay $30 for green fees and you are rewarded with breath taking views of cemeteries. Is it worth it?? NO it is not worth it at all. Not only do you over see dead people on tee offs but you also play on a golf course that does not have gress. What kind of golf course has patches of grass, the size of cars, missing on the greens?? DO NOT PLAY AT THIS GOLF COURSE!!!!! |

| Don't let the Par 64 fool you. This is a short course but challenging. Fairways are narrow with rolling terrain. Does not get that crowded after 10:30, pretty good value for a Queens Course. |
