Lenape Heights Golf Course

This course's small greens are fast. In addition, water hazards come into play on at least seven holes. The terrain is somewhat rolling, so expect some uneven lies in the fairways. X. G. Hassenplug designed the back nine, which opened in 1983.

Where are the goats?, Apr 05, 2012 |

| With so many excellent courses in the area, why pay premium prices to play a course better suited for pasture land? This course is not a "value", but I guess that's what the owners intend. Better to spend your hard earned $$$ somewhere else where good shots are rewarded and you don't feel "ripped off". |

The NEW Lenape, Mar 11, 2012 |

| Older reviews were correct. The NEW Lenape is a hidden gem. A new owner has brought great course attention, fast greens and lots of $$$ in improvements. We play at least 1x a week and drive 40 miles to do so. |

| Too expensive for a sub-par course. Go to Highlands Golf course in Butler if you want to play what you pay for. |

Needs to get back to it's roots., Apr 07, 2005 |

| Lenape Heights is a very nice golf course. The problem is that when they built their new banquet hall they jacked up the prices. Lenape is the perfect beginners course. It's wide fairways and smooth greens are the reason it was my sole golf course throughout my begining three years of golf. The problem was that by the time I was actually good enough to challenge the course, their greens rates almost doubled. If this was because of new irrigation or relocation of bunkers and water traps I would have nothing to complain about. The course has remained the same since I started, only the rates have become more challenging. Until Lenape returns to it's roots and puts the golfers first, I would not recommend this course. |

Nice Layout, Very Hilly, Aug 02, 2004 |
| reviewer: Joe Golf
from Natrona Heights, PA |
| Among the golf courses whose greens fees are in the lower tier, Lenape Heights is one of the nicest. The layout is quite interesting -- each hole has its "own look," and challenges abound. If there is a single downside to the course, it is the fact that you will have to take quite a few blind shots; you have to keep checking on the group ahead to make sure you have a clear shot. Conditioning is generally quite good, although I feel that both the fairways and the rough tend to be cut fairly long (especially the rough). The hilly terrain makes for a difficult walk. If you aren't in great shape, better get a cart. I gave the course a 3 out of 5, but it really is much better than average. |
