Panorama Golf CourseRoute 247 Forest City, PA 18421 Phone: (570)222-3525Fax: (570)222-5432
This lengthy course is forgiving because the landing areas in the fairways are generous. The course received the name "Panorama" as a result of the countless scenic views it provides. Locals claim, the total yardage from the back tees make this one of the longest eighteen hole course in the State of Pennsylvania. The front nine is rolling, as is the back nine. The greens are medium speed, large, and slightly sloped. The most difficult hole is #15, a 397-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot over water and up a dogleg right fairway. Tee times are only reserved for weekends and holidays.

Panorama is worth the drive, Oct 26, 2006

| I and a group of my friends play on a Wednesday night telephone company league at Ely Park Municipal golf course in Binghamton, N.Y.. Every Thursday throughout the golf season we try to play different courses (within an hour or so driving distance). We only recently began to expand our horizons into northeastern Pennsylvania. Much to our surprise, there are a seemingly endless number of hidden gems throughout the area. One of these is Panorama golf course. Panorama is a well maintained layout, with forgiving fairways and tactful (not tacky) elevation changes. The course is pleasing to the eye, and is absent the boring "parallel fairways" look. The design is well laid out, and none of the holes feel "cramped in"-like they ran out of space and just tried to jam a hole in somewhere. The greens were sizeable and rolled true, and the fairways were immaculate and seemed devoid of any weeds. The bunkers were weeded and clean, and the rough was tough, but fair. The carts were well maintained and the staff was friendly. The clubhouse is adequate, and I think there is a banquet facility upstairs for tournaments and the like. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and they will likely see us next year for a re-play. If you are from the Binghamton area and love the game enough to drive an hour to play a nice course, this is it. If you need further prodding, consider that gas is about 20 cents cheaper down there. Nuff' said. |

| Definitely worth the drive. Affordable, great facility, course was in nice shape. The people I played with were very knowledgeable about the course and were great to play with. Like any other course you have to consistently hit it well off the tee and keep it play to score well. It's a tough yet fair challenge for anybody and a great confidence builder for those that need to play a more championship style course. I don't know when I'll be back, but I'm sure someday I'll return. |
