This course has a completely different front nine as compared to the back nine holes. The front nine is wide open, and the back nine is very tight. The back nine has Oklahoma rough, which is prairie grass that can grow to be waist high.

Great course for a golf outing. Front nine is perfect warm up for the back nine. Concentrate on hitting the ball straight on the front...You must on the back 9. Friendly staff and overall good experience

This course is a challenge but, it is only a state park golf course. There is never a boring minute on the course but it isn't always in the greatest shape. The back nine is tight but it is scenic as it runs by the lake. It is a good time and certainly worth a daytrip.

Lufkin Country Club
"Very fun, and inexpensive."
This course is a very well kept secret in the old part of Lufkin, Texas. Not your upper tier type course but cheap for the quality. Fairways are very plush with just a very few spots that need work. And the greens, oh wow, possibly the best greens in the Lufkin-Nacogdoches area (including Crown Colony). It has the very challenging holes that you need to play cautious golf, and then it has the type of holes that you can attack with everything you have. When you finish this course, you will definately want to come back for more.
