The club personnel claim that this is one of the nicest public courses in the area. The greens are well maintained, and the trees are mature. The fairway on hole #2 provides a spectacular view of Horse Tooth Rock, located at the base of the Rocky Mountains. The 5,857-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 72.2 and a slope of 125. The 6,403-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 75.3 and a slope of 132.

Collindale golf course is easily one of the best public golf courses in Colorado. Its greens alone are well worth the visit to Fort Collins. They are fast and true and sloped from back to front. Saturday and Sunday pace is slow so go on a weekday if possible if you like a fast round. The fairways are totally flat with the exception of one or two slightly elevated holes.Nice walking course. There is plenty of touble to get into just slightly off of the fairways in the rough with a decent amount of mature trees to impede your approach shot. The course plays great from the tips for an above average golfer. The greens are superb... keep your ball below the flag. Nice driving range and cheap city fees make it a great place to golf. Friendly staff.

Desert Hills Golf Club
"What a golf course should be."
I have played this private course 5-6 times since 1992 and have enjoyed it every time. Recently I played as a guest in a small tournament and the course was in excellent condition. There are 8 other courses in this retirement community, several owned and managed by large course management groups, but they are not in the same class as this one as far as quality is concerned. There are few if any divots on the greens, all players seem to be very conscious of divot repair on the entire course, including the rough, facilities are clean and fresh, clubhouse is pleasant and modern and the staff is great. I have just joined and am thrilled to death with a life-time membership to look forward to!

Many par 3's that are attainable in 3 strokes, a lot of hills and beautiful scenery. In a rural setting, so it's rarely crowded. Not a particularly challenging course, but a fun course where I never felt pressured.

"Good for practice"
This course is almost always crowded which isnt a problem because I bring my youngest son here to play. the more expirence you have the less this course challenges you. I wouldnt come here by my self (golfer of 40 years)

Redstone Golf Course - Hillside/Meadowview Course
"The Arsenal Courses"
Hillside and Meadowview are generally better than Whispering Pines. Each nine has its own character. Hillside was renovated in 2001. For the low price the courses are pretty good. The fairways are pretty wide, some, but not a lot of trouble, although there are a few very challenging holes on each nine. The ninth on Hillside used to be a par four, so its fun for us duffers to play a par five that we can reach in two evry once in a while. The ninth on Meadowview requires a good drive over water, # 7 is a 192 par three with a green that is not very deep but very wide.The course is kept in pretty good condition yearround. Not much water or sand.
