This course has forgiving fairways, and water hazards come into play on some holes. There are three short par 5's on the course, so the possibility of getting a birdie or even an eagle is great. Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 10 AM to 2:30 PM, the green fees are reduced.

Fun & Challenge, Aug 02, 2005

Although there are more than a few houses along the course, the overall layout is fun and challenging. Front nine is shorter, but water, ob and hazards can take a toll. Back nine is a real up and down. 10 is par 4 up the hill, 11 is a par 5 you can make in two if you can clear the ditch and 12 is back down the hill par 3 that you dont dare over club or your dead.Best news is when your done the food is as good as any local resturant and priced right.

Greens are not well maintained, course always looks "beat up". Front nine is not very challenging.

Not for novices. Lots of houses!!! Lots of topography with some neat looking holes. The pro shop staff are very nice, and the food isnt bad either.

Odyssey Golf Course
"Odyssey is a good course"
I REALLY like this course. It is pretty long (which suits my game well), and there are a lot of places you can get yourself in trouble. The greens are tough to speak of...as pin placement can make this course one of the most challenging in the area (pretty serious breaks), or just a nice Sunday afternoon hackin' with the boys (dead-flat) if greenskeepers are being generous. They have GPS in their golf carts, and charge reasonable fees. The course is very-well maintained, with water in play on a bunch of the holes. In my opinion, Odyssey is the best bang for your buck in the area.

River Park Golf Course
"Under estimated"
River Park Golf Course is an amazing asset to the small town of Mackay ID. Many people including myself under estimated this golf course. When I arrived at the course I felt like I was too good of a golfer for a course like River Park but I was completely caught off guard. The narrow fairways, small quick greens and water hazards made it impossible for me to come close to paring the course the first few times. If you want a golfing challenge visit this wonderful course, where you will also be treated with genuine hospitality.
