This executive course has small greens and there is water that comes into play on fifteen holes. The signature hole is #4, a 425-yard, par 5, featuring a landing area that becomes narrow because of the sand bunkers on both sides and then a green that slopes away from the fairway.

Executive Length Challenge, May 28, 2004

Though a par 60 course of only about 3,300 yards, this can be a challenging course for many golfers. The greens are small and never flat, most holes have significant water hazards, and sand bunkers are found in the fairways as well as the greens area. Built around a series of ponds/canals/lakes, the fairways are often sloped toward the water. Ball placement becomes ever so important. While long ball hitters won't like this course because of its shorter length, those with a strong irons game will love the test of their skills. Bring your best putter and test your "read"; virtually every putt has a teasing break to it.

Having played championship courses most of my life I find this one very humbling. It is definitely a place to tighten up one's short game.

Glen Garden Golf & Country Club
"History"
Glen Garden is a great place for Golfers of all ages. Playing on the course, it is easy to see how it produced such greats as Hogan and Nelson. They have the classic postage stamp greens. You must be accurate with your approach shot or you will miss the green. It is a great course for beginners as there are relatively few holes where a bad shot will lose your ball. The pace of play is very relaxed and the course staff are over the top friendly. The only down side to Glen Garden is that when it was built it was out in the country (1912?). In the 1950's Fort Worth grew and houses went up all around the course. Unfortunately these houses we small wooden houses and over the years it has become the bad side of town. There have been huge efforts by the local population over the last ten years to clean things up but it will take time. I highly recommend a visit to Glen Garden for any golfer. If you have an interest in history you will find it fantastic to consider you are walking on holy grounds.

Pebble Creek Golf Club
"as good as it gets"
Pebble Creek is the best public golf course I have found in central Ohio. It is a chalenging, and very well manicured course. It offers a nice clubhouse and very friendly service. I highly recomend it.

Brookside Golf Course
"Excellent value and old fashioned feel"
Brookside is an excellent value, and offers intangibles that many other courses in its price range can't, at least in the Saline/Ann Arbor area. It has been in existence for decades, and feels like well established. The trees are all large and grown, the terrain is rolling and interesting, the greens are well aged, and the course comes across as being more "natural" rather than man-made. Also, it is family owned and it shows in the freindliness of the employees. There are lots of "regulars" that make for a very relaxed atmosphere. The course may be old, and rustic, but it is well maintained and interesting.
