This facility features two nine hole par 3 courses. The Par 3 Course has water hazards coming into play on every hole but two. The average length of the holes is 150 yards, with the longest being 175 yards. The Pitch and Putt Course is just as scenic as the Par 3 Course. Both courses are located next to Choctawhatchee Bay. Both courses are lighted until 10 PM in the summer months. In the winter time, the courses are open from 8 AM to 6 PM. The scorecard doesn't show handicaps for individual holes on either course. In addition, this golfing center also has two eighteen hole miniature golf courses which contain some of the most beautiful miniature golf holes in the country.

"Not exactly what you'd expect in Aggieland"
Nice layout. Much of central Texas doesn't have the same topography that an Austin or San Antonio can provide, but there were plenty of trees and some slight uphill/downhill despite a generally flat piece of ground. We happened to play on a day when the weather was poor. The wet conditions had us as the only players on the course. The price seemed at little steep as the lone players - $65.00 which included cart, but no range balls. The carts did have plex glass wind shields which was nice for the late fall and early winter. The course was over seeded, which made the fairways and greens very nice. The greens rolled true. There is a lot of water in play over the entire golf course. the design on several of the holes didn't seem like it fit a traditional risk/reward philosophy. For example on #1 and #10 (both par 5's), hitting a second shot over the water would still leave you 40 or 50 yards from the green, where as a 6-8iron lay-up would still leave a wedge. (Maybe Michelle or Tiger could get there?) Numbers #9 and #18 seemed to be the same type example. Water creeps out across the fairway on number 9 - driver is a risky play, but anything less and you've got a 200 yard-uphill approach or so. (I will say lack of roll in wet conditions would have just meant a lesser club off the tee because carrying the water with a driver wasn't an option) Much the same applies to number 18, although the approach was a few yards less. A lot of sand and a lot of water with some skinny necks in the dog legs on some holes is the reader's digest version. Shop staff was nice. Grill was available and had good selection.

"Classic Donald Ross"
This course is short in yardage (6200), but plays much longer. One reason is that there are only 2 par 5's on a par 70 track. The par 3's are classic Ross. 3 of the 4 can play over 190 yards to postage stamp greens. There are a lot of down and up style par 4's, but there is also variety. Holes 10,11 and 18 are good examples of tough, well thought out par 4's that demand accuracy and thought. A four is an excellent score on all of these holes. The course is generally in excellent condition and has undergone some minor renovations. You will notice that the greens are exceptionally small, even for a Ross course. Greens are properly protected with bunkers and have just the right amount of undulation. One designer has stated that these are the smallest greens he has ever seen on a Ross course (which may be its claim of distinction among the many Ross courses). There is a premium on iron play and short game. Greens are quick, but not penal. Everyone thinks they can bring this course to its knees, but it usually is the other way around. The course can frustrate you if you expect too much too easily. This is what makes it such a wonderful place to experience the brilliance of Donald Ross. A fun and challenging course. Played the course for years and I have never seen it in better shape. The greens are fast but not out of control and the fairways are nicely kept. All in all, great low rates for a real nice course.
