This scenic desert links-style course features numerous elevation changes in a canyon setting. Accuracy is foremost on this course's rolling fairways surrounded by desert. Strategically placed arroyos provide a good test of golfer's shotmaking skills from the tees, as well as approaching the greens. The greens are medium-sized and undulating. Water hazards, in the form of ponds, come into play on four holes. The signature hole is #17, a 209-yard, par 3, featuring a segmented green that is guarded by large boulders on both sides. "GOLF Magazine" rated this course 42nd best under the 1996 category of the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." The 6,004-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 75.2 and a slope of 141.

| Played this course in May 2006 and it was absolutely immaculate. The views were unmatched, even in the Scottsdale area which has a wealth of jaw-dropping vistas.
Was having a great time (translated: posting a great score) the first 9 holes, which almost all play down the mountain into the Canyon.
Then on about the 10th or 11th hole, wow did things change. You start playing up the mountain, so instead of 400 yd holes playing like 340 or 350, they're suddenly playing like 460 or 470. All on a very narrow, unforgiving track. So the back nine is really the test, which unfortunately I think I failed....! You really need to be both long AND accurate to survive the back 9 and post a good overall number.
We were paired up with a couple players that were about 25 handicappers, and they definitely did not have fun that day.
In summary: its a beautiful course and impeccably maintained. If you're a 10 handicap or under, you'll love it. If you're 10-to-20, you'll probably only love the front 9. If you're over 20, I recommend Talking Stick down the road :-) |

| My brothers and I played here on a Golf trip. We played 5 other courses, but by far this was the best of them all. It was spectacular in its beauty, and called for all my clubs to be used as the day unfolded.
I would highly recommend Sunridge Canyon to anyone looking for a premier course to play while in the Phoenix area. |
