This is a beautiful course. The front nine has tight, tree-lined fairways on hilly terrain, and the back nine has open fairways and no hills. There is a stream that flows throughout the course that comes into play on seven holes. William F. Mitchell designed the back nine, which opened in 1960.

The course is not worth the greens fee, Mar 12, 2004

Well the course is'nt bad. I do like the 18 holes however, the upkeep of the green's is not worth the greens fee.. I mean come on the holes are moderately placed but not too challenging.. I mean if you are in the area go ahead and play a few rounds but dont bother making a habit of it .

"Good golf for the money"
This is a cheap golf course that isn't too challenging. Perfect for the new golfer. This course will really make you feel better about your game, especially when you make a nice drive on a par 4 and your on the green.

"New Name for La Vista Golf Course"
The new name for La Vista Golf Course in Wichita Falls, Texas is HAWK RIDGE GOLF COURSE. This course has undergone extensive improvements the last year and one half. The improvements made have made this into one of the best courses in this area. While I rated it as 3 stars, it could very well be on its way to being rated much higher. Tanwax Greens Golf Course
"Cheap--But good quality"
Tanwax makes for great value, especially for a high handicaper. Greens fees are cheap, but the course is very well maintained--rough is trimmed, greens are in great shape, plays well in the winter. It's pretty wide-open, beginers don't need to worry about putting too many in the woods.
