Maplehurst CC - Review, Apr 07, 2004
reviewer: Mark from Frostburg, MD
Out of bounds on the left for the first 6 holes. Every par 3 is a possible double. Some short pars fours to get a stroke or two back. One short and three longish and quirkly par 5s. Very hilly. Take a cart if you're not in good shape: empty your bag if you walk. Many side-hill lies. Very open on most of the course so you can recover from wild drives (but see first comment). This course can be very windy. The upper holes offer a great view of Frostburg below. Very squishy in the early season. Greens are well maintained but the bunkers are in poor shape most of the time and the tee boxes need work. A pretty course with good greens. Worth the walk/ride.

Golfable Golf Quote of the Day:
" Golf is the cruelest of sports. Like life, it's unfair. It's a harlot. A trollop. It leads you on. It never lives up to its promises.... It's a boulevard of broken dreams. It plays with men. And runs off with the butcher. -- Jim Murray "
