Nice but needs some work, Nov 30, 2007

The course setting is beautiful. Good hills, and trees make the course very appealing. Things change when you get to the greens however. After years of using what appears to be a mowing only strategy the greens are in bad shape. There are clumps of bare ground, spots of weeds, and you can watch you ball bump and roll as if a trick ball. Poor drainage creates pockets of wet with most of the greens very dry. With a little management this course would be the best in gainesville.

My wife and I played this course 1/07 and found it to be very, very tight fairways. We were a little disappointed with the poor conditions of the course. If the would cut back some of the trees that are over grown, possibly some grass could grow. It would also make it a little more playable for the average golfer.

"Best in Colorado"
This course matches with any in difficulty from the tips. It is awesome to play and has many great golf holes. From th regular men's tee it is a terrific course as well. Fairways can be tight so high handicappers may find the course tougher and not as enjoyable as some. But, hey, with the views (best in the country for a mountain course) everyone will love this track. I have guests from all over the country play this course and rave.

This is one of the great old valley courses. Ancient oaks line the fairways kept to Championship standards. This is a must-play for all golfers in the immediate area. The price is ideal, the employees are pleasant, and the course is challenging and fair.
