Lake Manassas runs through this course and comes into play on half of its holes. The fairways are narrow, and the large greens are difficult to read. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 3rd "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and the 2nd best for 1997-98. Other awards include "Golf Digest's" 92nd ranking in the category of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1997-98, and "GOLFWEEK" rated it 33rd among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1997, 48th for 1998 and 59th for 1999. This club hosted the President's Cup in 1994 and 1996.

Unforgettable!, Sep 08, 2005

I played RTJ at Lake Manassas a year ago and it was an unforgettable experience. Playing the course is easily one of the two most memorable golf experiences I've had in the Metro area (the other was Caves Valley outside of Baltimore). The course is difficult, yet in esquisite condition. Bring your 'A' game and enjoy!

"course needs help"
This course needs major renovations before you let a high school team even on the course and the pro shop help hasn't even heard of golf before. This course is for sale somebody please but this thing and fix it up, right now it's just an eye sore.

A great course with old world charm with a hint of Caddy Shack's great old golf course "Bushwood." You will be treated well and feel like you are on the Caddy Shack set. This is a great layout with some long par 3's. The fairways are wide but trees line many holes and you must be in position in the fairway to get a shot at the small greens. Speed of the greens is medium-fast. Greens and Tee boxes were in good shape but the bermuda fairways are dormant and not overseeded for the winter. Play is slower on Sunday's but everyone was friendly and helpful.

"Real Golf"
This is a true golf course. Accuracy and distance is at a premium. There are no easy holes and you cant "run it up" to any of the greens. It is also a fair course. The greens neef to be a little faster and the traps need more sand but the layout is as good as anywhere in town...public or private.
