This facility has two outstanding eighteen hole courses. Both courses can be challenging because they each incorporate a variety of hazards into their designs. The Old Course is the traditional layout, and was rated #1 by the "Dallas Morning News." Water hazards come into play throughout the design, such as on hole #18, a 400-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot and an approach shot over the same creek, which winds through the hole. The Lakes Course is a links-style course that lives up to its name. There are also numerous water hazards in the design, such as the pond that sits at the end of hole #7, a 549-yard, par 5. Players must carry their approach shot over the body of water to have any chance at a birdie.

Don�t let this course fool you! If you play it from the blue tees it is a formidable challenge. There are some holes with tee shots that require a 200 yard carry over water (some days into the wind!) As well as a 190 yard plus par three with ponds and rivers all around it. The greens are nice and the grounds crew really works hard at keeping them that way. There are some narrow fairways guarded by 100 year old oak trees all the way down to the green on each side. It really plays more like a 126 slope and I believe it is rated incorrectly. Bring your straightest drives here.

Eagle Creek Golf Club
"Nothing Wrong With Eagle Creek"
I have golfed Eagle Creek many times over the past four years. The front nine holes are much different from the back nine. The front nine are wide fairways with very few obstructions and on a windy day, these holes can be as tough as any other holes in golf. Meanwhile, the back nine are just the opposite. The fairways are much more narrow and every hole except hole #13 is engulfed in trees. You must be very careful on the back nine because if you go in the trees you won't be making par on that hole. The wind is not so much a factor on the back nine but that's a plus since there is already so much to worry about. Still, it is a great course. If I had to make one complaint about this course, it is the fact that to just golf one round or even become a member the fees are a little ridiculous. It seems that most of the people who do or would like to golf there are locals and they can't afford to pay those type of fees. But again, that is my only complaint about this course. If I was asked to recommend one course to try, my answer would have to be Eagle Creek Golf Club in Willmar, Minnesota.
