This course has generous landing areas on the fairways and large, fast greens. Most of the greens are elevated and severely sloped. There are streams and lakes that come into play on seven holes. The toughest hole to play is #3, a 437-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg right fairway that slopes from left to right, then an approach shot to an elevated green.

Awesome course with fast greens, May 17, 2008

I have played this course many times and always find it to be in great condition, it is well manicured and cared for. The fairways and greens are always in great condition and most of the time the tee boxes are great too. The driving range is well used and in rough shape at times but you can always drive from the grass there. You will find it challanging and attractive.

Beautifully conditioned, classic Ellis Maples design. If you are lucky enough to be invited to play this golf course, don't dare pass up the chance. Gaston C.C. will host 2005 U.S. Open qualifying.

GCC information re Rebuild., May 17, 2004

GCC closed in early Dec 2003 to rebuild greens and redo and move some fairways and cart paths. Should reopen in July 2004. When the course reopens Gaston Country Club should be one of the best in the Carolinas!

"Great Public Course"
You must take into consideration this is a course run and maintained by County government so it's maintenance is not what it should be. Aside from that it is a great course. It is long, very challenging, fairly wide open and hilly. It's also a very pretty course. You would be hard pressed to find any course in a comparable price range that is this nice with such a beautiful layout. This course gets a lot of play during the week from senior citizens ( they get yearly permits ) but on Friday thru Sunday it is not crowded.

"Good Course at a fair price,"
The course is decent in upkeep, not the greatest greens but a nice and challenging course at times with greens protected by bunkers in touch positions. Course management is a little on the off side, they have no control over how many are on the course, and will load it up way past capacity, as well as never using any marshalling to speed up play. Weekdays are good times to play because of the lessened Traffic

Cedarbrook Country Club
"Nice !"
Cedarbrook is a great course for a good price. Course will test every golfer. At 6900 yards it's long enough to be a test yet not so long that it's unfair. Great greens and in very nice shape.
