We played on 9/5/10 as a 4some and we all agreed that the course was in horrible shape and not worth playing again. Most fairways had little or no grass and were like hitting off hardpan. The greens were not much better with dead spots all over.Early in the morning none of the bunkers were raked and had very large stones in them. The tee boxes were in terrible shape and littered from the day before.NOT WORTH PLAYING!

not worth it, Aug 06, 2009
reviewer: 3 handicapper from Rockford, IL
The course is in horrible shape as of 8/2009. the greens looks like cheetah fur from some sort of grass fungus. The greens are also hard as a rock...watching the ball off them like i was hitting onto a cart path when hitting 9 iron, PW, & SW into them. The back 9 is being renovated and is laughable...at best. At one point i paced off the 15th fairway and it was 15 yards wide with trees surrounding it so that even if i threw the ball it would probably not hit the fairway. Not worth it and i might be back to play it in 3 years if im drugged.

A river runs through it., May 03, 2007

Championship layout, meant to be played from the tips in order to reach openings on doglegs. Once you figure this out, the course becomes quite easy if you can putt reasonably well.

Ball strikes tree, get used to it pal., Apr 10, 2007

Be sure to feed Woody woodpecker when your here. You'll be in the woods gurenteed. Very tough layout, set up for pro, carrys, specific length to open dogleg, fast greens, bag drop off, small bar, usually half nude college girls, I love it. Come on out, we'll go to Hills tap after golf.

Great course good price, May 13, 2006

this is the first time at the oak club of genoa. This was an extremly pleasent surprise. I expected a golf course on a farm field, However I was treated to a championship golf course with terrain changes, a River running through the middle as well as bunkered greens and good course conditions. If this course was located in the suburbs it would cost double its $49 price tag on the weekend. There were very few lunch options just the basics. So I would make sure you eat before you get there.

very challenging and fun, Apr 08, 2004
reviewer: david bell from genoa
the golf course is very well constructed. a river runs through many of the holes and various ponds fill in the empty spots on the course. the bermuda grass rough is very thick and there are plenty of trees surrounding each hole. this set up makes it almost impossible to shoot low unless your a pro. the very fast greens dont help to much either. it is a very fun course to play if you enjoy a challenge. just remember to bring some extra balls, you'll need them.
