This traditional course has elevated greens and very narrow fairways. Accurate tee shots are at a premium on this course. One of the most difficult holes on this course is #6, a 590-yard, par 5, requiring shots over a ditch that meanders its way up the fairway. A U.S. Open Qualifying event was held here in 1993. Tee times are only reserved for weekends and holidays.

Tight but Dry, Mar 16, 2004

The course always appears in good, if not great shape. I found the fairways to be relatively tight and well manicured. The problem that I have with the course is the lack of difficulty. Very little water exists anywhere, and with the exception of a few holes, the scenery is plain. To go to the next level requires additional streams and ponds, as well as elevated greens and tee boxes. More sand traps in a few places would add to the lack of terrain as well. Having the phone actually work (#9 tee box to the "grill") would be a real plus as well.
