WHAT A COURSE!!!!, Feb 25, 2006

Lake Park Golf Club is located 15-20 minutes north of milwaukee and is well worth the ride. It's a large course(27 holes) with lots of water and lots of fun. The price is right also. I golfed there with my dad and it was a delight. The weekday price is about $33 for 18 holes with a cart and seniors get even a better deal. They pay only $20 for 18 holes with a cart!!!! What a deal! Senior rates start there at 55 years old. The course is long, but fair. The greens are probably the best in the state,I'd say they were about an 8 or 9 out of 10. Forget the county courses, Lake Park is so much better! You don't need any cards or have to join anything. Just call, make a reservation, bring your clubs, and your "A" game, and play!!!

I found this course well maintained and challenging. Though I have a rather high handicap at the moment, this course offers plenty for golfers of all skill levels. Water comes into play on numerous holes as well as fun and, at times, frustrating traps. Fairways are wide and forgiving and greens are quite fast. I'd recommend this course to anyone.

This is an excellent golf course for beginners and seasoned golfers. The original 18 holes play somewhat easier than the new Legacy 9. The legacy nine is very well kept and is challenging. The price is great for the value you will undoubtedly find!

Parris Island Golf Course
"PI Regular"
I may be biased as The Legends Course at Parris Island is also my home course but it ranks among the best values in northern Beaufort county. Fairways and greens are kept in great shape year round, overseeded in November and consistently mowed. The course is located on a Marine Corps training base and civilians will need both a tee time (call the pro shop) and a pass, available at the main gate. Be sure to have a photo ID, car registration and proof of auto insurance. Tee times are readily available, even on weekends.

Ballston Spa Country Club
"A Classic Woodlands Layout"
This is not a long course, but it will test every shot in the bag, while challenging your putting skills on fast, true greens. At over 75 years of age, this tight, tree-lined, track is a great example of a classic 1920's Donald Ross-type golf course. The back nine has more hills and plays tougher than the front. This course is probably the best bargain in the area.

"Great practice but not pretty"
Play is fast and cheap. Borders a consruction stie, swamp and train tracks. Not the prettiest place. Very kid friendly.
