Affordable, Nov 19, 2010

Our group of travelling seniors plays Cedar Ridge about 3 tmes a year. It is NOT a high-class course, but it does have some challenge, espcially the back nine, which has some elevation change. Course is pretty wide open, minimal bunkering, few moguls, no railroad ties, just plain golf. Layout not too challenging, and of medium length. Greens are generally medium sized, fairly flat, and putt somewhat slow. Carts are hand-me-downs and not very pretty, but they work. Course does not have irrigation, so during the summer it gts pretty firm. Course is in the Tee Time Book, and the first round is free, plus cart fee of about $12. Course is walkable. Pro shop was recently upgraded, and is pretty nice for the size/class of the course. The attached bar/kitchen is excellent! Good prices, terrific service, and they make a really mean bowl of clam chowder. Cedar Ridge is a good course to go play with your friends: unpretentious, and a small cut above a dog track (for that see nearby Meadow Creek), but fun and affordable.

Good condition, straight forward and fun to play. Plays shorter than the yardage and the ball tends to feed towards the fairways. Greens are very nice. It is an enjoyable experience and a pretty place to play. I recommend it to anyone heading to California's Antelope Valley.
