This is a tight and difficult course to play. There are several fairway bunkers, and the greens are fast. Water hazards come into play on several holes. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 5th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 3rd best in 1997-98.

Canterwood has matured, Feb 19, 2008

The course at Canterwood has softened through the years considerably. Trees have been limbed up, and in some places removed. Bunkers have been redone as part of a Master Plan developed and overseen by John Harbottle. Driving areas have been widened. Sanding programs have dried out many of the previously wet areas. Green speeds are kept manageable for the average player, but can be raised for competition. The course,the setting, and the neighborhood in which it is found are unrivaled in the area, though more affordable than most think. It offers an outstanding golf experience!

the traps and ponds are for babies... way too easy for my five year old son... i shot 2 under my first and only time golfing at canterwood

Canterwood-- The best course in Washington, Jul 15, 2004

Naturally, Washington is home to an amazing aray of golf courses featuring natural beauty. Canterwood is definately the top. It features gorgeous design and layout including a tee shot over two lakes side by side with the sun shining on the waters. The prestegious club house is open to members only and if you know a member or can afford the membership, this course should be number one on your to-do-list.
