This course makes optimal use of the natural landscape in what was once known as the "Half Sink" area. The rolling fairways are bordered by a dense forest and feature strategically placed bunkers which may catch you off guard if your not aware of them. The front nine has many elevated tees which offer scenic views of the course. "Once the northern border of the Chickahominy Swamp during the Civil War, The Crossings was a hiding place for outlaws and a staging area for troop movements in the Richmond Virginia area."

Nice course but...., Jun 08, 2004

Course is nice and somewhat challenging but....arrogant personell and overbooked tee times make this a looonnng miserable day of golf from the time you tee off until you finally finish 5+ hours later.... If you want to enjoy this course tee off real early or real late

Montecito Country Club
"My first course"
I grew up playing MCC. The main criticism of the track has always been that you never get a flat lie, which is often enough true, but a weak criticism nonetheless. When typically fast the greens are challenging (hint: everything breaks toward the ocean); on #13, if you don't keep it below the hole, any putt you don't sink will wind up all the way at the bottom. The course favors a longer driver, and offers plenty of challenge and opportunity for creativity. And you can't beat the view of the Pacific.

Although you must golf with a member, Highlands offers a wide variety of challenges. Varying lies, fast greens, and narrow fairways makes Highlands a highly likeable course. A recent resodding of the fairways to Kentucky bluegrass has made this already aesthetic course even more beautiful.

Walden Ponds Golf Club
"Golf Outing"
I played in two outings at Walden Ponds golf club in 2003 and I found that the attention to detail was outstanding in both instances. The staff was extremely helpful and the golf course was one of the finest conditioned courses that I played in 2003 including private clubs. I highly recommend that you experience this golf course.
