Located just outside Phoenix, Gold Canyon Golf Resort boasts two 18-hole championship golf courses: Dinosaur Mountain and The Sidewinder. This resort added nine new holes to an existing nine to create the Sidewinder Course, which opened in September, 1998. The original nine holes on the Sidewinder Course, which opened in 1997, run along the lower flatlands and wind through a housing development. The course now measures 6,481 yards from the back tees and plays to a par of 71.The picturesque Dinosaur Mountain Course can be difficult for the beginning to intermediate player. It is a par 70 and measures 6,584 yards from the back tees. Many great views of the Superstition Mountains and surrounding valleys can be seen from every hole. The course is a target-style design. The small greens are fast, and the fairways are narrow.Instruction is available through Resort Golf Schools, based at the resort and led by Scott Sackett, one of "GOLF Magazine’s" "Top 100 Teachers." Don't miss this one if you get a chance to play it !!!!, Jan 11, 2009 |

| One of the truely Beautiful and fun golf courses you will ever play. If you get the chance don't pass it up. Don't be fooled by the yardage as its a par 70 course not 72. A true test of golf for any level of player as most of the hole you will have uneven lies that will test even the best golfer to get it close. Greens like #1 and #3 will make you pay if you get the ball above the hole so watch your yardage and stay a little below the hole on most holes ( Carts have GPS so yardage is easy ) The views are spectacular so bring your camara and get some real beautiful pictures. Hard to believe you can have such a spactacular course in the desert but its truely there for the enjoyment. You will definately play this one more then once. Don't miss it!! |

Wonderful experience for out of towners, Apr 28, 2004 |

| We double dipped it..Sidewinder in the morning and Dinasaur in the afternoon on a Saturday ($165 included both courses, carts, and range balls). Pace of play was good on both courses (< 4 hours each). Sidewinder is a fun track with tough large greens. Dinosaur is a must play for out of state visitors. The views and landscape is Arizona at its finest! Had a blast and hope to return each year. |

This Dinosaur is not Extinct, Apr 18, 2004 |

| My son, a Scratch golfer recommended this course to me (a 20 somethng handicapper). It lived up to his report. The views are amazing, the course even more so. Back tees require a low handicap, accuracy is important, the desert areas are unforgiving, I played the Blues around 6300 yards. A couple of greens needed some work but generally in very good condition. Range balls are included, but no drivers on the range. The food carts are regular and well stocked. If you want a cheaper round, check AZ Tee Times, I saved approx. $50. |

| The course was reasonably picturesque. The greens were in poor shape. They don't include range balls in the fee. |
