This course is a combination of Scottish/Irish links-styles. It is set on 300 acres of beautiful rolling hills on the edge of the Sand Hills. The course is lined throughout with unplayable rough that ranges between one and two-feet tall. The fairways are medium width and open, while the greens average 6,000-square feet in size, are fast and are a mixture between flat and undulating. This course has many sand bunkers and natural blowouts.

| Our group will be going back to Wildhorse for our 6th consecutive year, and even though it's still winter, I'm already excited.
We meet friends from Denver and Gothenburg is a good midway point between Omaha and Denver and we combine this with the Play the West package. Look it up, it's got to be one of the best values in golf anywhere.
Onto Wildhorse, it's a truly unique golf experience unlike what is seen we see in most U.S. golf courses. It is truly links style, and you're far better off playing to ball along the ground into the green than the typical high spinning shot. The greens roll true and are usually VERY firm and fast. The fairways are similar in that they are firm and fast with generous landing areas. The wind is the major defense along with the speed of the greens.
It's nicknamed "the poor man's Sandhills Club" but I've spoken to others who have played both and other than the eliteness of Sandhills, love both almost equally. |

| What a great course! If you can't find a way onto the private "Sandhills Course" in Mullen, NE, go to Gothenberg and play Wildhorse! This is the best course I played on a cross coutry golfing marathon. Shot 91, lost lots of balls before I quit doing heroic shots and had the course pretty much to myself on a week day early morning... Greens were super - very fast and true. The rough was very rough... Knee high at least. |

| This course is different than the usual Nebraska courses. It is more of a links course with big bunkers, wide fairways, and slick as ice greens. It is a beautiful sight to see and is a course every avid golfer should experience. Take plenty of golf balls if you are not good off the tee, because if you miss the fairway, there is tall, think native grass that is impossible to play out of. Play this course if you get a chance, it is well worth it. |
