| I grew up on this course. We were members when it was Piedmont Crescent. The heyday was the late 80's, early 90's, when membership was strong. It was no problem to find a game. In the past ten years, everyone has dropped out. As for the course, it doesn't get any better. The fairways are carpet and the greens are smooth, sloped, true, and moderate. It's been 10 years and I can still recall every bounce. Have fun when the pin is on the front of the green on 13. Thread the needle off the tee on 4. Avoid the right on 5 and you better know how to draw the ball on 8. Great course, great memories. |

Natural golf, Feb 05, 2004 |

| Ellis Maples used time-tested design methods on Quarry Hills golf course. Not alot of earth was moved when placing the holes, and the result is a warm, natural feel when walking this course. In fact, it was made to walk. Despite its short length, it is a strong test of golfing skill to score well here. A true Hidden Gem in North Carolina. |

| If you ever get a chance to play this course then do it. It's longer than you think it is and it is a very tough course. The course is kept in excellent shape and the weekday cost to play is very reasonable. The membership cost is also very reasonable for someone who is looking for a moderately priced country club. |
