Deceptively Difficult, Jun 17, 2004

This course is kept nicely groomed all through the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. While a short course (almost like a Par 3), there are a few Par 4's and a Par 5 sprinkled in the mix and the hilly nature of the course makes for some pretty tough lies if you don't stay on the fairways. I've lost my fair share of balls in the little creek that runs between #2 and #4, too!

"Good Course at a fair price,"
The course is decent in upkeep, not the greatest greens but a nice and challenging course at times with greens protected by bunkers in touch positions. Course management is a little on the off side, they have no control over how many are on the course, and will load it up way past capacity, as well as never using any marshalling to speed up play. A course perhaps more friendly for the long-ball hitter with more than enough water and some deviously placed sand. Access to the course requires a military affiliation or a friend who can host your play but, well worth the trip. Given its location (on base), play is seldom hampered by a crowded course which also makes it a most hospitable course for the slower player, the short ball hitter or those just learning the game. The placement of water (ponds and streams) makes for an interesting attack plan and invites disaster for the reckless. Improved traps, general landscaping and more attention to tee boxes and greens over the past two seasons has made the course much more enjoyable. The first six holes are a low rolling layout with a lot of trees in play along the fairways. The rest of the course is basically flat with several holes playing parallel to the runway and an occasional aircraft take-off or landing adding to the view. Course amenities are well maintained. Walk, pull a cart or ride in a relatively new electric cart. The golf carts are in great shape and an adjacent driving range is a plus for tuning up before hitting off of the first tee. The clubhouse has a small grill for lunch with a comfortable seating area for a beer after the game. The pro shop is equipped to handle most needs.

Elm Tree Golf Course
"Great Time"
I played this course a few times in 2003 and I had a great time. Not one of the hardest ones I have played, but really long shots and nice wide fairways. I have to say if you are in CNY area and in the area between Cortland and Ithaca, NY Elm Tree Golf Course has to be a stop.

Tri City Golf Course
"GOOD FUN course"
I have played tri city many times i am a 16 year old kid and its just perfect for my friends and I, its a nice course in pretty good shape and its a good price. It has a little bit of everything, water, bunkers, narrow/wide fairways, and the greens are well kept. Its a fun golf course and everyone that works there is super nice, the driving range is also awesome. I plan on playing there more, and I would recommend it to others!
