This regulation course offers spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The terrain is rolling, and the fairways are lined with mature oak trees. There are creeks that come into play on eleven holes, and a lake that comes into play on four other holes. The greens are undulating and medium-sized. The signature hole is #16, a 416-yard, par 4, requiring a slightly downhill approach shot over a creek bed to a well-bunkered green. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 10th "Best New Private Course" in America for 1995. The same publication rated it as the 19th "Best in State" course for 1997-98. "GOLFWEEK" selected this course 98th among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1998. This course is open to the public on Mondays with a slightly higher green fee.

Piney Valley Golf Course
"Not too bad"
This golf course offers an exersise of the mental game and practice on accuracy. This course is one of the nicest in the area. The front nine offers chances to let loose and holes to decide what club to hit. The back nine is more flat yet a bit more difficult due to the mind set of trying to reach in two. This course is not a five because easyness and choices of veggitation and is not a four because of it being on a military base ( security check gates) however for someone who doesn't want to travel an hour or two away its nothing to complain about.

Delaware Park Course
"Delaware 2003 review"
Delaware Park is a great place to learn to play golf because it offers open fairways, well maintained greens, no sand or water. There is hardly ever a bag line. There are 18 holes on relatively flat land. The trees present the only problems as many are in the fairways. The course conditions have shown vast improvement recently , especially in 2003 when new tee boxes were planted and benches were placed at each hole. It compares favorably, I think to the 2 other city courses, Cazenovia and South Park. Those courses offer just 9 holes each. The park setting is beautiful. If you want to practice without being intimidated, this is the place.

Bartow Golf Course
"Golfing For Par"
This Course is set out to have you playing for par rather than birdie. Tricky bunkers, well placed trees, and water make the Bartow Golf Course frustrating at times. Minor elevation changes enhance play as do friendly people. Give it a try.
