This course is highlighted by its large, undulating, fast greens. In addition, large cottonwood trees line the fairways. The Missouri River comes into play on the last four finishing holes. All together, water hazards (ponds and a river) come into play on eleven holes. The signature hole is #2, a 395-yard, par 4, featuring a large sand bunker on the left side of its narrow fairway and requiring an approach shot to a large sloping green. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 3rd "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and the 4th best for 1997-98.

Beautiful mature course along the Missouri, Jul 25, 2004

A challenge and a wonderful layed out course. The front nine is easier than the back but with elavated greens and traps in range of the tee shots on most every hole. Tiered, fast greens and mature trees and landscaping it was truly a joy and a hidden jewel. A must play for central Montana visitors.

"OUTSTANDING VALUE"
Played it many times. Expansive layout, well manicured, nice greens. A little dry at times, but thats the neighborhood. Recent updates such as massive waste-bunkers installed in various locations make it attractive, looks expensive. A very fun course to play. Better than 2 or 3 other courses in the area. Water holes are a challenge and beautifully presented. But don't tell anybody, I like the course to myself. Going back Feb 3rd to the 13th 2004.

Fox Creek Golf Club
"A Best Buy in StLouis Metropolitan Area"
I will start by saying that while I am only 24 years old, I have been an avid golfer since age 7. I haven't played a huge number of courses in my lifetime, but I know a good course when I play one, and I know a bad course as well. I personally feel that this course plays better than the more well known Sunset Hills CC also in Edwardsville, while not requiring membership/friendship to play. I've played the Bay Point Lagoon Legend in Panama City (known to be one of the 5 toughest courses in the US), and I truly don't think it has much on Fox Creek difficulty wise. The trees alone on Fox Creek truly play havok with any shots that aren't riding the middle of the fairways. Several greens have large trees that block approach shots that aren't setup off the tee correctly. A smart player will leave his driver in the bad on most tees (unless you are confident in your big stick), however, due to the course's length, approach shots end up being taken with mid-to-long irons more than one would like. Couple this with water or OB on nearly every hole and multi-tiered undulating greens and you are looking at one tough course. The best part about this course is the low price. You can play for dirt cheap in my opinion for as fine a course as this one. The only knock in my book is that the course does not wear well through the year, either due to climate or an average greens-crew. So if you want to play a great course for a bottom dollar price, come early in the year (April-May). I promise you won't be disappointed.

Bartow Golf Course
"Golfing For Par"
This Course is set out to have you playing for par rather than birdie. Tricky bunkers, well placed trees, and water make the Bartow Golf Course frustrating at times. Minor elevation changes enhance play as do friendly people. Give it a try.
