Good Value, Apr 19, 2011

reviewer: Bogey Man from Montco

Macoby offers some very good specials every few weeks. Quite often you can get on with a cart after 1pm on the weekend for just $25. I've played just about every public course in Montco and this is one of the harder courses. Lots of hills which leads to some tough lies. The up hill par 5 hole #3 is really tough.

Very impressed with the condition of greens and proper care of the fairways and rough. Very friendly people, able to get out by myself right away .I will make another trip there again.

Newnan Country Club
"Tough Layout"
Beautiful layout with a lot of elevation changes and fast, undulating greens. The course also winds through a lot of trees, mostly pines and oaks. First six holes are a real challenge. If you can survive these opening holes with a score that's just a few strokes over par, you may be able to recover by the end. The 15th hole is a monster from back tees, measuring almost 650 yards. Overall, bring every club in your bag.

"Nice course but difficult to get on........"
This is a great course, provided you can get on it. Always packed, best course in the area by far....I played here once and I am a resident, that shows you how hard it is to get a tee time here, used to be they only wanted non-residents because they pay more to play, (residents get a great discounted rate)...bad management idea there, of course residents complained and alot has changed....if you get the chance to play here by all means do it...you wont regret it...
