This is a long and demanding course with fast, undulating greens. In addition, the narrow fairways are well manicured. The terrain is rolling, plus lakes come into play on several occasions. "Golf Digest" rated this 76th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and 75th best for 1997-98. The same publication also rated it as the "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. In addition, "GOLFWEEK" ranked it 83rd among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1997, and 100th in 1998.

| Best course in the state of CT. Long from the back tees, great bunkering and green complexes. Conditioning is second to none and the layout can compete with US Open venues. |

| This is the best course I've played in the state. There are literally no gimmicks and no gimmes. You can walk off greens proud of a three putt. |
