This facility has an eighteen hole regulation course and a nine hole par 3 course. The Regulation Course is very well bunkered and has trees lining most of its fairways. The small greens are undulating, fast, and four of them are multi-tiered. The club is located just off of Lake St. Clair, so the wind can be a factor. The signature hole is #18, a par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg right fairway, then an uphill approach shot to an elevated, well-bunkered green. This club hosted the U.S. Amateur in 1954, and Arnold Palmer walked away the winner. "Golf Digest" rated the Regulation Course as the 7th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 10th best in 1997-98. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" ranked it 92nd among the "100 Greatest Courses in the U.S." for 1995, and "GOLFWEEK" rated it 64th in the category of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997, 62nd in 1998 and 74th in 1999.

| Fun course with lots of traps that have steep faces. The par 5's are short, with the exception of #10 (590 yards from the tip). No water and minimal elevation change. What you see is what you get. Pace was good. Course was well maintained. Greens were moderately fast and relatively small compared to many of the newer courses. A couple had two tiers. |
