RVGC came under new ownership in May 2008. In July all mowing equipment "left" by previous owners failed. All new equipment was purchased. We knew we had a problem and provided each golfer with a free pass during this time to come back and try us again! We have a new fleet of electric carts. Our new ownership is dedicated to providing the "Jewel" course of Central Virginia as she once was. Visit the official web site "www.royalgolfgc.com" for information and specials.

I have played golf at Royal Virginia quite a few times due to its cheap rates. About 8 years ago the course was wonderfully kept all of the grass was even, flush, green, and striped. As of a few years ago the course has died out quite a bit due to lack of adequet machinery and fertilizer. However, I had just gone back to play this summer, 2008, and I can see how the place is getting back into shape. Looking good, keep up the good work and I'll be back a whole lot next summer.

I thought this a good course, but the condition was horrendous! The course hadn't been cut in a week. I find this fact out after the pro shop took my money and did not inform of its condition. After three holes, I quit and demanded money back which they returned. It looks like a good track, but ask before you play here! It shame they letting this couse go to seed.
