"for this area its a great yonug course"
if you have ever golfed in this area you relize that there are 2 types of courses. private corses which are nice but... private and then courses that are a bit run down. well cross creek is the exception it may be young(few trees still coming up) but its lots of fun and well maintained with a good staff and a great time for new or more seasend golfers alike

I played here twice so far. The fairways were in pretty good shape. They recently hired a new superintendent from Charlotte National (Dino) who produces some of the best greens in Charlotte. With a little time, he will have those greens rolling right. He has already started re-doing all the bunkers. Some walks from green to the next tee would be impossible to make. It has some beautiful holes. Most bunkers did not have enough sand in them, but they're being re-worked now with some getting all new drainage and sand and some being filled in as grass bunkers. This will make it a fairer course.

"Not a Winter Course"
This is an enjoyable course in the summer when the grass and trees are green, but in the short Texas winter it is hard to tell the greens apart from the fairways. For a great experience play between mid-March to late October.
