This course has open fairways on the front nine, and the back nine is tight and tree lined. The greens are large, undulating, and fast. Water hazards (streams and ponds) come into play on five holes. There are six par 4's that measure over 400 yards in length. The signature hole is #8, a 561-yard, par 5, which features a huge oak tree in the middle of the fairway and a very shallow green. This club was host to the Nike and Hogan Local Qualifying Tournament from 1991 through 1993, and the USGA National Public Links Qualifying Tournament in 1995.

This place sucks, Aug 17, 2008 |

| Let me first say that i am not talking about the golf course... The course itself is in great shape though the greens could be better and the bunkers need new sand, but the course itself is in great shape with long challenging holes. What sucks most about the place is the staff. The head pro is a jerk who treats everyone like they are beneath him and will go out of his way to discourage anyone from playing in tournaments or his course if he doesn't deem them worthy of it. The place has also out priced itself in my opinion Laurel Views daily greens aren't terrible, but not being able walk on the weekend till after 3 sucks they say it speeds up play but it doesn't. The membership prices have become so absurd that one has to stop and consider if it is really worth paying those fees and only being able to walk 5 days in the morning. If you can deal with all that then go ahead other than that the course gets a big thumbs up but the staff gets two thumbs so far down they are in the center of the earth. |

Great Public Course, Oct 29, 2004 |

| I played Laurel View in early October with a few friends who are single handicappers. We all had a great time. The fairways are in great shape. The greens are not overly fast, but are in really good shape and roll true. When it comes to elevation changes this course offers as much as any I've played while not presenting many blind shots. This is a beautiful course and is the best deal for a round of golf that I've found in Connecticut. If you are coming from the south don't follow the directions on the website. Consult a map, you can get right off the Merrit and be there in about five minutes. |

Reminds me of Beth Page Black, Jun 11, 2004 |

| Excellent golf course for its price. As I played each hole, it reminded me of Beth Page Black where the U.S. Open was played a few years ago. The holes are challenging and required long, accurate drives to stay on the fairway. Holes varied in elevation. At each tee box and green, I could see the holes are set up for viewing stands. The ranger could have done a better job of moving slower players but overall, I was extremely satisfied with the course. |

Hidden away, but worth the trip, Mar 05, 2004 |

| LV has recently been given a big facelift, and it shows. The course is challenging, and if you're walking the front 9, you'll stand a good chance of being near exhaustion towards the end. LV has a full driving range as well as a chipping/putting green with several types of grass and lies. Costs are more than reasonable for the quality of the course. Lots of water on this course, which in terms of difficulty compares well to Tashua in Trumbull. My only complaints would be that last time I played some of the cart paths were close to offroading, and some of the greens were a little worn. |
