Having seen almost every course in Cinti......., Mar 31, 2004

I've seen many a golf course in Cincinnati, mostly public but quite a few private. Friendly Meadows golf course is one of my favorite courses to play because of it's wide array of challenges without being a target golf course. You don't find yourself hitting half shots off the tee or getting robbed because of a strange bounce in the middle of a fairway. The course is fair although I hate hitting my tee shot off of #11. If you don't mind a little drive you should check it out. It'll be one of the few courses you'll play this year in par time! The greens are VERY nice and the course shows sings of improvemnet every year. Hopefully the tree limbs off the tees on #11 and #6 from the back tees get trimmed up.
Don't let the slope fool you, get lazy and you'll easily add a few strokes to your score. Keep the ball in play and you'll reap the rewards.

High Ridge Country Club
"Breathtaking"
This very exclusive club is one of the best i've ever played on. Not excessively long, but very challenging. The course was in impeccable shape, and 16 of the 18 holes could be signature holes. If you ever get a chance to play this beatiful track, jump at it.

Newnan Country Club
"Tough Layout"
Beautiful layout with a lot of elevation changes and fast, undulating greens. The course also winds through a lot of trees, mostly pines and oaks. First six holes are a real challenge. If you can survive these opening holes with a score that's just a few strokes over par, you may be able to recover by the end. The 15th hole is a monster from back tees, measuring almost 650 yards. Overall, bring every club in your bag.

Knob Hill Golf Course
"One of the better ones around"
Nicely maintained, well conditioned course. A little short from the whites, and perhaps a little long from the championship tees for the average golfer. Water comes into play on many holes, as does out of bounds. Greens are medium sized and fairly flat, but several have devilish breaks. Holes seven and eight can make or break your round, and when playing into the wind, the eighteenth is as tough a finishing hole as there is in the area. There has been talk about going private for several years, but it appears as if it will happen sometime in 2004, so if you have the opportunity to play, do it soon!!

Turkey Creek Golf Club
"I like this course"
Turkey Creek is a well maintained golfer friendly course. The course is a links type course with refreshment machines between the 8th green and 9th tee box. The course has a gentle rolling terrain with numerous water hazards and a few well placed sand traps. It will be worth the drive from any where to play this course.
