SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, DON'T PLAY HERE, May 08, 2009
reviewer: Randy from Harrisburg, PA
This course takes the cake for being the worst course in the Harrisburg area. Between the fact that it's not a very challenging course, the sheer condition and upkeep of the course, and the terrible management, I wouldn't recommend anybody wasting their time or money to play here. Yesterday, one of my friends was trying to reserve us a tee time and called around to all the courses in the area. Unfortunately, Sportsmans was the only course (on the east shore) that didn't have league play that evening, so he booked us a tee time for 3:45. The person that answered the phone abbruptly the tee time and prematurely hung up the phone. My friend had to call back because the employee hung up before my friend could give him his name or the number of players for our tee time. My friend beat me to the course, only to find out that there WAS in fact a league scheduled to play at OUR tee time. When he went to the pro shop to pay his greens fee, he was met with a, to put it nicely, less than professional attitude from the man working in the pro shop. The man barked at him and said there's no way we reserved a tee time at that time. When I arrived at the course, I asked the the same man to speak to a manager, and the guy had the nerve to give me attitude and made the accusation that I was upset because I didn't make it to the course before my tee time, although I was standing in the pro shop during that conversation 10+ minutes before our tee time... Long story short, the course is terrible and the employees are idiots. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS COURSE.
