This course has very difficult greens to read because of their severe undulations. The fairways vary in length and width. The signature hole is #16, a 176-yard, par 3. This club was originally located in Yonkers, New York, and is listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. It also received mention in "GOLF Magazine's" 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." The course has been redesigned by William H. Tucker (1900), who was the greenskeeper for a time at this club, Morris Poucher (1920), the English duo of James Braid and John R. Stutt (1930), and Jack Nicklaus in 1983.

| I have had the oppurtunity to play this course on numerous occasions, and every time, it seems like it gets better and better. This conditions of the course arfe always great, as the club works hard to keep the course in perfect shape. Also, the course calls for challenging shots all throughout the round, making it an enjoyable but very difficult round. There is nothing bad one can say about this course, as it is a true treat to play it. |
