This course was built on hilly terrain, so you can expect some uneven lies. The fairways on the front nine are narrow, while the ones on the back nine are more open. All the greens have very subtle breaks and are quite large. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on five holes. The signature hole is #4, a 402-yard, par 4, requiring your shot to a ninety degree dogleg left fairway with two placement shots required to a severely downhill green that is sloped and fast.

This course was disappointing. It's easy to see that with a little love, some good groundskeeping and a sizeable sum of money, its layout could provide a very nice golf experience. Tee boxes have little to no grass, and fairways are spotted with bare patches. In its current state, I would not reccommend this course to anyone but a beginner. The price was reasonable, but the conditions are a severe detraction. The pace of play was also very slow (there were two FIVEsomes in front of us).

Wynstone Golf Club
"Employee"
Wynstone is situated on a topographically diverse landscape, unbecoming of many Chicagoland golf venues. It has abundant wildlife which adds to the course's balance between a parkland and wetland. Wynstone also offers a unique challenge for any golfer. Not only is the golf course difficult at 7,000+ yards, but also presents a challenge to any comers at 6,500. Both birdies and bogies are easily found throughout the track. Finally, the course is maintained hard and fast. Fairways and greens are firm which requires and rewards shotmaking.

A great course that gives you alot of different looks. Short (almost drivable) par fours and long par 4 into the prevailing winds. A couple of reachable par 5s (for the long hitters). I enjoy playing it everytime I am over there.

"Nice Backyard Course"
Their fairways are like my front yard grass, the greens are slow as molasses and the tee boxes look like a dog did them in. There are no twilight prices and no off season prices. The course is made up of mainly par 3's and 4's. All 18 is fun if you like to play the same holes over again. My advice play the back 9 because it is a lot more challenging. Nice course to kick back a few. The bright side is there carts are $5 but you might as well walk and get your moneys worth. But overall it is a prime course for someone learning to golf. But as Ferhty would say "There's no flys on that one", does not pertain to this course.
