This course includes scrubby arroyos and more than a mile of lakefront play. The most intriguing feature of this course is the fact that it rests directly on the shores of Lake Las Vegas and has five holes that come into play on these shores. The facility was nominated by "GOLF Magazine" as one of the "Top 10 Best New Courses You Can Play" for 1999. Hole #8 is widely accepted as the signature hole. As you tee off on this 200-yard, par 3, you must have an accurate shot to land on the peninsula green. The 6,391-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 74.7 and slope of 130.

Madera Golf & Country Club

This is a great layout with some long par 3's. The fairways are wide but trees line many holes and you must be in position in the fairway to get a shot at the small greens. Speed of the greens is medium-fast. Greens and Tee boxes were in good shape but the bermuda fairways are dormant and not overseeded for the winter. Play is slower on Sunday's but everyone was friendly and helpful.

"Best Par 3 Course Ever"
It really makes you work on your short game. If you need help with your wedges this is the place to be. There are some really long par 3 holes up to 200 yards. It is deep in the woods and has some narrow fairways. I give it 5 stars for being challenging and fun.

"Hilly experience"
This course is fairly tight with large greens that are exquisite. They roll very well and are extremely undulating....making for putting challenges. Even though the length is about 6200 yds from the back tees, it plays a lot longer than that due to the hills, large greens, and abundant sand.

THE COURSE HAS A EXCELLENT SET OF GREENS AND THE FAIRWAYS ARE NOT BAD EITHER. NOT ONE OF THE HARDEST COURSES AROUND, BUT DEFINITLY A GOOD ONE.
