This course is located on wooded farmland and features small, well-undulating greens. The timber-lined fairways vary from narrow to wide open. Hole #2, a 530-yard, the par 5, features a dogleg right fairway and a green protected on three sides by water.

| Crooked Knee is a relatively new course, carved out of rolling-to-rugged farm and timberland. There are several holes with significant elevation changes from tee to green. Some feature very challenging, and beautiful, terrain.
A creek runs through the course, it is in play on several holes. You can walk the course, but a cart is highly recommended, particularly on the front nine. The owners and staff are friendly and very accomodating. Food service and club house facilities are limited, and there is no pro shop for equipment purchases. Greens fees, carts and food are very reasonable.
I've played this course over several years, and the greens and fairways are improving every year. It is fairly easy to get a tee time, and you will enjoy a chance to play a "diamond in the rough". Worth a trip from out of town, just for the experience and the scenery. If this course were in the Chicago suburbs, it would be packed every weekend. |
