This course is in outstanding condition. The fairways are lined with mature trees, and the sloped greens are difficult to read. Ken Killian and Dick Nugent redesigned this course in 1977, followed by Bob Lohmann in 1989. There is a golf learning center located two miles away from the course that is managed by the park district.

| I have played hundreds of rounds at Sunset Valley. The truth is, it is not in that great of condition for most of the season. It is however made more difficult because of this. The most difficult part about the course is that the fairways are very very narrow. The greens are also very difficult because they arn't all the same speeds however they are close. The course layout is pretty difficult because it calls for very accurate drives but there are very few pins that one can't shoot at. If you happen to play poorly (which is not uncommon at this course because of it's difficulty) you will feel better after having a meal, snack or beverage at the amazing restaurant. All in all, the course is extememely fun and worth while to play. |
