They also rated it as the 46th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and 51st best for 1997-98. Other awards include, "GOLF Magazine's" 46th ranking in the category of the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, 55th for 1997 and 66th for 1999. Outstanding Course, Mar 28, 2004

We played Long Cove Club a few days after playing Harbour Town, (the week of March 21st 2004) and frankly it blows away where the Heritage MCI is played, and Harbour Town is a great course. After Pine Valley and Pebble Beach I would argue in favor of placing this Dye masterpiece next in line. The tee boxes through the greens were immaculate. Tremendous golf experience, beautiful course, and while it's strictly a private course, you can do what I did, find a member that will allow you to play it. Then buy a lot at Long Cove Club after the round. It is simply one of the finest golf courses in the world. It is a must play for any serious golfer in their lifetime. I'd rank it 10 stars if I could!

One of the best in the country. The reviews are accurate. Challenging and hard to get on to. Its worth it to buy a home there just to get to play!

Heron's Ridge
"Fun, yet challenging for any level golfer..."
The course will grow on you. The first time I played it, the course kicked my hind-parts. Every hole has a different look and challenge. The fairways and greens are always in great shape, even though they don't overseed in the cold months. Because the course sits high, even though it was built on wetlands, there is always wind, and therefore a challenge. The course will beckon you back time and again. Very nice play and good staff.

"A Classic golf Course"
Bass Rocks in my opinion is an ideal kind of golf course. Every time you play is different. The winds off the ocean can be a help at times. However, other times it can play havoc with your game. The course forces you to play almost every kind of shot there is. From high flops to knock downs, it will test your game. The staff is second to none. Friendly and always willing to offer a tip or two that will help make your round more enjoyable. The members make you feel right at home. Like they have known you for years, even if you just met. In my personal opinion, every town should have a club like Bass Rocks.

"Beautiful and challenging old-style course"
This a beautiful, scenic golf course which will challenge every golfer, regardless of handicap. The maturity of this course, which includes huge oak trees and large shade trees, gives the impression of walking in a park, with the added enjoyment of playing golf. Even though the length of the course is short by modern standards, that is where the challenge lies. Drives must be accurate, and pitch shots precise. The greens are deceptive and fast, and are well-bunkered. The clubhouse is very well-planned, with great views of the course from the men's lounge and dining room areas. The men's locker room has been remodeled, and I guarantee that Luis, the locker room chief, will never forget your name. He is a wonder. One golfing visit to this club will make you wish you could live in the area so that you could apply for membership -- it is a memorable golfing experience.
