This eighteen hole course is nestled in the foothills of the Missouri River bottom. The overall topography is rolling and there is a 150-foot elevation change from start to finish. There are some elevated tees as well as greens. The front nine holes are open, while the back nine is cut through wooded terrain. Most of the back nine fairways are tree lined. Those who play the course remark on the course's variety of aesthetic looks. One of the favorite holes is #9, a 195-yard, par 3, which plays downhill a total of 100 feet from tee box to the green that is guarded in front by a creek. It's recommended that the tee shot carry the green to avoid losing your ball in the creek. A beautiful view of the clubhouse is featured on this hole.

Great Course, May 02, 2008
reviewer: Anonymous from Jefferson CIty, MO USA
For the dollar amount this course is by far the cheapest around and the course is wonderful. Also if you are worried about the course condition they have made improvements from the last time I played. But the price to play and the enjoyed you will get it is worth playing a round at this course.

Jewel golf course in mid-missouri, Apr 13, 2008
reviewer: charles harrington from rolla , mo usa
From out of town and stoped by to play railwood, which was recommended to me by a co-worker. Really enjoyed my round and you can't beat the price. The back nine was beautiful, with the rolling hills and elevation change. The staff seemed friendly as well. Will definitly play again.

Nice course at a low cost, Sep 02, 2004
reviewer: George from Columbia, MO USA
The course is in really good shape except for the tee boxes. The users of the course fail to replace the divots they create and/or fail to put sand in the ones that cannot be easily fixed. The rough can be very tough, especially in the rain. The weekend rate greens fee + cart is $28. There are a lot of trees and if you are not a controlled hitter you might want to bring extra balls.

exceptional course at pasture course price, Jul 27, 2004
reviewer: Bert Bell from Pittsburg, PA
Dollar for dollar one of the best courses in the country I would venture to say. Green Fees are 18$ which is unheard of. This led me to believe the course would be in miserable shape. The course was in fantastic shape and the back nine ran along the bluffs of the missouri river. Some breath taking views were to be seen. Beers were only a buck too!!! Could not believe this course for the price. It is a must play if in the Jefferson City, Missouri area.

Worst service in the industry!, Jun 20, 2004
reviewer: Mike Farmer from Holts Summit, Mo
If your looking for friendly and helpful staff this is not the place for you. This is the most hateful staff around. Just because the course is owned by an NFL player they all think they are better than anyone else, while in honesty they are just riding someone else's coat tail! Absolute worse golfing experience in Central Missouri!

The course was not to bad but the staff was rude and hateful. When I said something to them they told me not to comeback if I did not like it they had plenty of golfers.

played railwood, May 11, 2004
reviewer: Walter , Jonathan from Kentucky
Played Railwood and I just wanted to say that for the price (28$) cart included what an experience. Hell a six pack is only six bucks!!!!! I did have a blast though and the course is beautiful with rolling hills, and all the bells and whistles. I guess some NFL guy purchased the thing and has just made it cheap for everyone, dumby. Well please check it out because I had a blast.
