This links-style course features numerous sand bunkers as part of its design, and water hazards come into play on most holes. The front nine is pretty challenging with hole #11, a 555-yard, par 5, being the toughest in the layout. This is the hole that makes the course, as it requires an approach shot over a ravine to the green. There are plenty of other opportunities to get in trouble on the back nine, including a few nice par 3's that can be great for you or detrimental to your game, depending on how you play them.

Fun Course, Great Price!!, Nov 27, 2006

The first time I played Clear Creek was September of 2006. Not expecting to get much golf for my $20 green fee on a Tuesday, I was very pleasantly surprised. It had some of the BEST greens in Houston, and I've played over half of them and belong to a private club myself. Front nine was open and great for scoring. Back nine required more patience and shot-making. I carded my first 78 on this course last Saturday. I can play this course every week, and not get tired of it. Can be a little slow on weekends, but for twenty or thirty bucks, you can't beat golf like this.

typical houston links-style course. lots of doglegs and fairway sand to challenge players by taking the driver out of the equation on many of the holes. All greens are protected by elevation, sand, mounds, and water in some combination. Few trees on course, makes for easy shotmaking from the fairway.
