This exclusive men's club has fairways that are generous, but lined with large oak trees. The slightly sloped greens are fast, and the fairways are defined by a standard cut of rough. The wind is frequently a factor on this course, so selecting the proper club is important. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 11th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and the 10th best for 1997-98.

If you ever get invited to play this course, do not pass up the opportunity. I have played some of the best courses in the USA, and Lochinvar does not have to shy away from comparisons to any course. Every aspect of the course was top notch; in addition, the staff was excellent. I hope to have the pleasure of playing there again.

Lochinvar is by far the best course in Houston. It will never be voted as such because the exclusivity prevents most people from getting a chance to play it. It is in perfect condition 12 month a year.

Lochinvar is an elite course, Men only makes a big diference! No offense ladies, but it is really nice when there is only 10-25 rounds a day played on a course. Never had to wait a second out at the Loch! GREAT EXPERIENCE IF ANY ONE GETS THE CHANCE TO PLAY!

Lochinvar is a unique golfing experience on one of Texas' finest courses. The fairways are immaculate as are the greens. One of the best ranges I have ever seen, and fantastic help make Lochinvar Houston's finest.

"Ball Striker's Course"
Chantilly is fairly open and forgiving -- wide fairways and large greens. But due to its length you cannot bump it around. Unless you play the women's or seniors tees, you actually need to HIT the ball to get around in a decent score. No sculling it off the tee and still having a decent shot at the green here. Even off the white tees, most players need to hit driver on 12 or 13 holes. The combination makes this rather traditional track a fair test. The turf conditions and greens are generally quite good. But the tee boxes could use work, and there are drainage problems on a few holes. This is not the most visually stunning track you will ever play. No dramatic dog legs or elevation changes. BUT it is a great walker's course. Fairly level, with greens and tees close together. Old style.
