This course features some rolling hills and many water hazards. The course is very tight, so you must keep an eye out for the golfers on adjacent holes. The greens are fast, short and very deceiving. At least half of the holes have sand bunkers incorporated into their designs. A new clubhouse was completed in 1994. There are lights on the driving range for night practice. The course is very busy and you will find players of all skill levels visiting here.

We played this course and had a lot of fun. It is a typical OC public course with lots of play, setting that aside, the course was in good condition, and though the fairways are narrow, if you miss, you can play out of the other fairway without penalty. Course is friendly to all skill levels, and those with low handicaps can under estimate the course. Have fun.

Northeast Harbor Golf Club
"Seasonal member"
NEHGC is on the pleasant island of Mt.Desert in Downeast Maine. I live in Seal Harbor 6 mos. a yr and join the club as a seasonal member. The play is $255 and excludes June 26 thru Sept 6. It is by far the best deal on MDI and throughout the downeast region. The course is never crowded, and you can expect the service in the pro shop to be excellent. Beautifully maintained greens and fairways with the backdrop of surrounding mtns. and countryside make this course a well kept secret on busy MDI. Make a tee time after Sept. 30 to enjoy incredible foliage and ideal temperatures.

Inconsistent greens throughout and tee boxes from hell. The 12th tee grass is 6 inches tall all the time....please someone wake up. The range is closed to paying customers and open to members only. Big deal it's just a stupid field. If you want to play fun golf, go somewhere else.

This golf course could be great if they had anyone who knew how to maintain a golf course. It currently is slighty better than a cow pasture.The views of Mt.Hood are great,the location is great,the fees are the cheapest in the state.No clubhouse is a major negative.A great place for a gorgeous walk,but not a place for a serious golfer.
