This well-maintained course was built on rolling terrain and has fairly wide fairways. There is water that comes into play on six holes, and the wind is often a factor. The signature hole is #11, a 203-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot to a green guarded by water on the front and sides. The weekend green fee includes the cart which is mandatory until 2 PM. Nine holes may be played after 3 PM on weekends.

Great golfing for your buck, Oct 07, 2004

This is a very nice course. I have only golfed here once but I was very impressed. Clubhouse facilities could use some improvements, but other than that it's a very nice, well-groomed course. I would definitely recommend it.

I love this course and recomend it to everybody. It is pretty challenging. The greens are very nice and well kept. This course has a very nice practice driving range and putting green. Although if you can hit the ball as far as i do then you might run into problems with hitting balls over the net on the driving range. But i would recomend this course to everybody.

"Challenge"
The fairways here are nice, the greens protect the course and make it extraordinarily challenging. It doesn't play long but you have to be a good iron player to shoot anywhere in the 70's.

Wyckoff Country Club
"Quick eighteen"
This course is short, but what it may lack in length it makes up with difficulty along the course. Fast greens and sloping fairways provide players with challenges every time out. Throw in some wind and you are playing some real good golf if you can break eighty from the back tees on this Par 69 course. Fun course with good people in the Pro Shop make this course a great place to play.

"Great track"
I love this course. Have probably played it as a guest about 8 times and every time I'm done, I can't wait to get back. Played it 2x last summer ('03), when there was a lot of rain out East, and despite that, still enjoyed it. Fairways are among the best conditioned I've ever seen. Greens are in great shape-- and not too big, so you get a lot of makeable putts, but there are a lot of subtleties to them. As for the layout, get your pars and birdies on the front 9 because the back is brutal. One is a straight out Par 5 and you think "this isn't too bad". Get off the tee straight on two. Four is a very good hole. 6 is a sneaky tough par4 dogleg left, and nine is a 450 yard par 4 (blue tees) that gets you geared up for the back. Not a bad hole on the back nine, plus it takes you out of the holes that wind through office buildings and puts you into wetlands. A lot of carry. Par 10-12 and you are ready for 13, a long par 4 with a 2nd shot carry to a green that is impossible to it and impossible to putt. The member I play with is a 5 handicap and he always says--"take your bogey and smile". 14-17 are no gimmes and 18 is a par 4 that demands a 250 yard tee shot, but this leaves you a 170-200 yard uphill approach from a downhill lie to a green that has more break than any other on the course. Clubhouse is nice, but doesn't seem big enough. I've been there on Summer Friday's and it always seems like they need more space. Food is awesome though.

Tannehill National Golf Course
"4 stars"
Tannehill National has got to be one of the best courses in the state. The fairways this past summer looked better than a lot of greens I've seen. From the back tees the course is near perfect. It is pretty much wide open but, there is a creek that comes into play on several holes and the strategically placed ponds can make you pay for a bad tee shot. The greens are fast but they hold shots and roll true .You just can't find bermuda greens that stay as consistent as theirs do.
